Comic Con

Gather your clans, step into your super suit, or gear up and come to the Eielson AFB Comic Con Saturday, February 8 from 12-4pm. Spawn into the Eielson City Center and explore two floors filled with activities, card tournaments, virtual reality demos, and more! The Base Theater will host talent panels and a cosplay contest. Visit an array of vendors and pop culture exhibitors throughout. The Library will host crafts, virtual reality, and table top gaming. A superhero obstacle course, videogame free play, teen creative stations, and an intergalactic battlefield will be held in the Community Center. Grab a free swag bag, lanyard, and attendee badge! Tee shirts will be on sale in the lobby. These rules have been created to provide a safe, organized, memorable, and fun cosplay experience for all involved. Please sign up at the Ernie Walker Theater to be in the cosplay contest.

1. All contestants must wear/display a Cosplay Contest Pass. This pass will identify you during judging.
2. No nudity. 354 FSS staff reserves the right to decide what is considered appropriate for the contest audience. Keep in mind children will be in attendance.
3. No profanity, political, or religious statements are allowed on stage including on messages, signs, or clothing.
4. Costumes cannot promote any particular political agenda or message.
5. Costumes cannot endorse any form of real hate group.
6. Costumes cannot defame, misrepresent, or contain disparaging remarks about the United States Armed Forces or any organization associated with it.
7. Costumes cannot depict, and cannot itself be in violation of any law.
8. Contestants are responsible for their own belongings.
9. Everyone should be treated with respect and courtesy, and please be aware to not do anything to rip, tear, or ruin anyone else’s costume.

The maximum amount of entries for the contest is 30 participants.
Group entries count as one entry.

• Costumes should be original creation or clearly show modification to store-bought costumes.
• No liquids, messy substances, or anything that may pose a danger is allowed on stage.
• The coordinator may reject a costume entry based on it being inappropriate or unsafe. See Cosplay Contest RULES for further guidance.
• Creativity and craftsmanship count!

• A panel of four judges assembled for their knowledge in the related field will select the winners of the contest and present awards to:
o Best In Show
o Best Craftsmanship
o Judges’ Choice
• Each entry will be given one minute to describe their costume to the judges.
• Contestants will be judged on visual impact, craftsmanship, resourcefulness, and originality. Group contestants will additionally be judged on the cohesiveness of the theme.
• Best in Show category only available to single entries.

Opening Date: January 28, 2020
Deadline for Entry: February 6, 2020 at 6:00pm

1. The art contest is open to children ages 13 and under.
2. Limited to one entry per person.
3. Entry sheets can be picked up at the Library, Arts & Crafts, Youth Center or School-Age starting on January 28, 2020.
4. Contestants are encouraged to decorate their superhero cape using their imagination with materials such as cloth, foil, fringe, sequins, etc.
5. Cape base must be the entry form or attached to the entry form.
6. Deliver completed entry to the Eielson AFB Library no later than 6:00pm on Thursday, February 6, 2020.
7. All entries will be displayed on the back wall of the library during Comic Con.
8. Eielson City Center staff will judge entries after the deadline and award prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in the following age categories: 7 and under, 8-10, and 11-13.
9. Judging will be based on originality, overall appearance, craftsmanship, use of materials, and creativity.
10. The public is invited to view the entries at the Library throughout Comic Con.

Winners will be announced at Comic Con on February 8, 2020 in the Library.

DUNGEONS & DRAGONS - Hosted by Jason Charles Miller

• 8 individuals will be randomly chosen to participate in a D&D game hosted by professional Game Master Jason Charles Miller.
• Game will be a level 1 D&D 5E adventure that runs approximately 3-4 hours. Players should have RPG experience.
• Drawing entry is open to DoD ID cardholders ages 18 and up and limited to one entry per person.
• Entry into the drawing opens Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 12:00pm in the Library and closes at 3:45pm.
• Winners will be selected by a random generator and announced at the 4:00pm finale at the Base Theater.
• Winners must be present at the finale to be eligible to play.
• Game starts at 5:00pm in the ECC conference room.
