Open Recreation, Camps, Classes, & Events

Located next door to Anderson-Crawford Elementary, the Youth Center offers a broad assortment of year-round activities for in a fun, safe, and exciting educational environment.

The ​Open Rec Program open to 9-18 year olds offers opportunities for positive youth development by supporting the skills, interests, qualities, and abilities of all youth.

From instructional programs, sports activities, open rec, winter & summer break camps, field trips & more, the ​Youth Center assures parents that their children are safe, secure, and engaged.

Youth Center is an Official Bus Stop!

Did you know? The Youth Center is an official bus stop for students riding the bus back to Eielson from North Pole! They can come straight to the Youth Center right after school on Bus #58 OR catch a ride on Activity Bus #61 that leaves later in the afternoon. If you live in North Pole and work on Eielson, you can easily pick up your youth from the Youth Center. Just request a Bus Deviation from NPM or NPH.

Volleyball Skills Sessions

Kids will work on essential skills such as serving, passing, setting, and spiking. They will also engage in fun drills and games that promote teamwork and sportsmanship, while improving agility, strength, and endurance.

Magic Mondays

Kids will learn exciting new tricks that they can practice and perform for family and friends. This engaging and interactive class teaches fun and fascinating skills behind various magic tricks, encouraging creativity, confidence, and critical thinking. Students will receive a magic kit.

Gymnastics, Beginner

Kids will learn proper warm-up and stretching techniques, and introduction to foundational gymnastics movements such as rolls, handstands, cartwheels, and bridges. They’ll develop strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance.

Ballet/Jazz Combo

Exciting class that reviews the basics of ballet while incorporating upbeat feel of jazz. Some ballet techniques that will be taught are: 1st and 2nd position, tendu, releve, leaps (grand jete), ballet walks, and passe. Some jazz techniques that will be taught are: jazz walks, jazz parallel passe, kicks, chaine (prep), and chasse. Class is co-ed.

Superhero Academy, Beginner

Superheroes will work on strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination. Basic crime-fighting moves such as forward rolls, backward rolls, cartwheel drills, handstand drills, and bridge drills will be taught to build the necessary strength and foundation for future skills! So wear your superhero costume, superhero t-shirt or come in disguise as a civilian and start training to improve your superhero skills!

Gymnastic, Intermediate

Kids will learn advanced gymnastics maneuvers like handsprings, walkovers, and aerials, a refinement of form and technique in basic skills, and strength conditioning tailored for intermediate gymnasts.

Superhero Academy, Intermediate

This program is for the more advanced superhero who has already mastered the beginner skills. Superheroes will continue to build strength, flexibility, and balance, perfect their bridges and cartwheels, and start transitioning to more challenging crime-fighting skills like round-offs, walkovers, and handstands! Superheroes are encouraged to wear their costume or superhero t-shirt or come in disguise as civilians and continue building their superhero skills!

CYPBMS Registration

CYPBMS is a Department of Defense (DoD) information system. It is designed for parents to have one account, Air Force wide, with an easy transistion from installation to installation. This parent account will be used for all registration and payment processing for all Child & Youth Programs (CYP).

New users, please call our front desk staff for details on creating an account in CYPBMS prior to logging in to the Parent Portal.

Partnerships

Department of the Air Force Services partners with national youth serving organizations to provide a wide range of programs and services for youth and staff, including Boys & Girls Clubs of America, USDA/4-H, National Alliance for Youth Sports, Council of Accreditationand.

Torch Club

Torch Club gives youth, ages 9-13, the opportunity to develop their leadership skills through service to their Youth Center and community. Torch Club members learn to work together to plan and implement activities in four areas: education, health and fitness, service to club and community, and social recreation.

Keystone Club

Keystone is Boys & Girls Club of America’s (BGCA) premiere teen character and leadership program. The program helps develop good character and positive leadership skills for young members ages 14 to 18. Teens learn the value of good citizenship and community service and are encouraged to participate in activities in four key focus areas: community service, academic success, career preparation and teen outreach.

Air Force Teen Council (AFTC)

Air Force Teen Council is a network of teens from AF bases around the Midwest working to resolve issues and voice teen concerns to the highest levels of AF leadership on behalf of teens locally and worldwide.

Youth of the Year

Develops teens’ leadership skills through experiences in and out of the club. This leadership development program includes hands-on activities, exploring topics such as identity, passion, personal branding, voice, teamwork, goal setting, as well as activities to prepare them for the Youth of the Year selection process. Each year, one deserving teen will be selected to represent Eielson AFB as their Military Youth of the Year. The Youth of the Year will then be able to compete against other military bases at Regionals for a chance at additional scholarships.

Eielson Youth enjoy a diverse array of sports year-round, including football, soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, cheerleading, & more.
